Eliza Bagg will present a theatrical evening of original solo music utilizing vocals, vocal processing, violin, and synthesizers, as well as collaborative music made with Oliver Hill, her bandmate from experimental pop-band Pavo Pavo. Truly an artist of the present moment, we can't wait to see what Eliza has in store for us.

About Eliza:

Brooklyn-based vocalist Eliza Bagg is a creator and performer seeking to develop a singular style and personal repertoire through close collaboration. Along with her original material, she has worked with a number of prominent and emerging composers including John Zorn, Michael Gordon, Judd Greenstein, Chris Cerrone, Daniel Wohl, Bill Britelle, Olga Bell, Missy Mazzoli, and Emily Hall, among others.

Recent and upcoming projects include John Zorn's Commedia dell'Arte at the Guggenheim, Michael Gordon's opera Acquanetta at the 2018 Prototype Festival, Amy Beth Kirsten's chamber work Savior with The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's musicNOW series, medieval chant with Jacqueline Horner of Anonymous 4, Spiritual America with Infinite Palette at the Palm Springs Art Museum, and appearances at the Ecstatic Music Festival and Iceland Airwaves. She has performed with chamber ensembles such as the Bang on a Can All-Stars, New Morse Code, Victoire, and Contemporaneous, and premiered four song cycles written specifically for her within the first six months of 2017. Bagg has been noted for her unique sound, having had Pitchfork compare her "haunting vocals" to "a lovelorn alien reaching out from the farthest reaches of the galaxy."

Bagg leads and performs with her experimental-pop band Pavo Pavo, whose music Stereogum calls “weightless pop that sounds like it was beamed down from a glimmering utopian future." Critically acclaimed for its "washed-out playfulness and wistful exuberance," (The Guardian), Pavo Pavo's debut album was released by Bella Union in November 2016. She has also collaborated with electronic artists Tim Hecker and Helado Negro, and indie-pop band San Fermin. She sings regularly with GRAMMY award-winning new music vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth, and appears with them across the US in concerts and residencies.
