We are proud to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by breaking down the financial barriers to cultural programming.   • THE ACF MUSIC WALK

    A village-wide festival showcasing an array of innovative and virtuosic local artists, and celebrating local businesses and public spaces. Guests are invited to explore Artist Discovery Listening Stations throughout town, and all performances and events are free, wheelchair accessible, and open to everybody. In partnership with RiverCulture and Greenfield Cooperative Bank, and in support of Nolumbeka Project & The 10th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival (Aug. 5-6).

    Joined by collaborator and guitarist Kyle Sanna, (he/him) Maeve Gilchrist (she/her) has taken the Celtic (lever) harp to new, innovative levels of performance and visibility. Maeve tours internationally with groups including the Silkroad Ensemble and Arooj Aftab’s Vulture Prince Ensemble, and her recent album, The Harpweaver, was hailed by the Irish times as “Buoyant, sprightly and utterly beguiling….a snapshot of a musician at the top of her game.” Stunningly multi-faceted, Kyle Sanna has been hailed by The New Yorker as a “first-rate, versatile musician.”

    ACF is thrilled to welcome back Vermont-native Sam Amidon (he/him), a world-renowned contemporary folk artist specializing in guitar, fiddle, and banjo. Sam has released a string of acclaimed albums on the Bedroom Community and Nonesuch labels, and collaborates with such artists as classical composer Nico Muhly, experimental composer & producer Ben Frost, composer & violinist Eyvind Kang, composer Aaron Siegel, Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), guitar legend Bill Frisell, producers Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Frightened Rabbit), veteran jazz drummer Milford Graves and multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily.

    Steph Davis (they/them/their) is a marimbist, arranger, composer, educator, cultural activist, and researcher. Hailed by the Washington Post as a "captivating" performer who brings "bright humanity and expressive depth" to contemporary music, their work engages people, traditions, and technologies of the African diaspora as means for uncovering truthful historiographies, finding creative self-actualization, and reaching for collective liberation.

  • HAWK HENRIES @ The 10th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival

    AUGUST 5 & 6, 2023
    Turners Falls, MA

    In our third year of partnership with Nolumbeka Project, ACF is once again honored to host musical artist Hawk Henries, a member of the Chaubunagungamaug band of Nipmuck, a people indigenous to what is now southern New England. In addition to being an internationally-acclaimed performer and sought-after public speaker and educator, Hawk Henries has been composing original flute music and making flutes using only hand tools and fire for over twenty 25 years. Hawk will be performing as part of the 10th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival - a celebration of Native American art, music, and cultures taking place at the Unity Park Waterfront.

  • THE 2023 ACF Ei

    AUGUST 14-22, 2023
    Antenna Cloud Farm in Gill, MA

    After a successful and deeply rewarding inaugural year, the ACF Experimental Institute will return this summer in late August, once again co-led by performers and educators PaviElle French, Mazz Swift, and Michi Wiancko. The ACF Ei is a tuition-free summer intensive for highly accomplished and talented young artists centered on creative exploration, career mentorship, and the innovation of holistic approaches to musical pedagogy & collaboration.

    Participating guest artists, mentors, and fellows will be introduced in a few weeks, along with opportunities for ACF audience and community members to engage with Institute musical activities.
